KGMCH imparts training to 8 member crew of Air India evacuation flight operating on May 10

KOZHIKODE: Experts of Kozhikode Government Medical College imparted training to the 8-member crew of the second batch of Air India Express evacuation flight operating on May 10 to Bahrain on how to manage inflight operations at the time of Covid-19 pandemic.
The eight-member include three pilots and five-cabin crew from north India.
The medical college experts imparted training classes on the use of PPE, usage of mask and gloves, washing hands, and maintaining social distance at the time of dealing with non resident Keralites returning to Kerala.The training also detailed about the precautionary measures that need to be taken during inflight operation and also how to manage in case an emergency occurs during the return journey in flight.
The training was imparted as part of the infection control measures. The team comprising Kozhikode Government Medical College principal Dr V R Rajendran, Kozhikode Government Medical College Superintendent Dr K G Sajeeth Kumar Dr Mini, Dr Maya and other of the department of microbiology and infection control imparted training related to various aspects during the occasion.
Kozhikode Government Medical college hospital superintendent K G Sajeeth Kumar said that the training was mainly imparted on steps involved on donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE) suits and also about how to handle a medical emergency in the flight. "We have also extended them help for training in the near future,’’ he said.
